Susannah Simons

Susannah Simons is the Director of Partnerships for Marquee TV.

She began her career as a radio presenter with BBC Radio 4, presenting the PM programme for 10 years before moving to Channel 4 and Business Daily and finally Classic FM. It was during her 10 years at Classic FM that she became part of the senior management team whilst continuing her work as one of the station’s main presenters. In 2003 she returned to the BBC as Head of Policy and Outreach for BBC Radio and Music working on Charter renewal, the Burns review of BBC Radio and general policy issues. She was also responsible for developing the education work of the BBC’s Orchestras and the BBC Singers and for managing the Public Value Partnership with Arts Council England. In 2008 she joined the BBC team working on the BBC’s coverage of the London 2012 Olympics as Project Director for the Cultural Olympiad.

In 2014 she embarked on a new joint venture with Arts Council England with the formation of Canvas, a 3 year action research project designed to build the audience for the arts online and to develop the skills of the sector as they seek to engage with digital technologies.

A long-time champion of the importance of arts education she has served as a trustee of Youth Dance England, Artis and Orchestras for All. She continues to serve as a trustee of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The PRSF for Music Foundation and One Dance UK.

She is also much in demand as a conference chair, interviewer, key note speaker and facilitator.
